9 school days left, including today!  We all love school, but we love the holidays too - let the countdown begin!

PreK Parents:  Please remember that PreK classes are cancelled for tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 11, as teachers will be in Professional Development with Early Childhood teachers in the NCSU.  K-6 classes will still be in session.

We may still need parent volunteers to help us out at our Farm to School Taste Test on Friday, December 11, 2015 between 11:10 – 12:45pm.  If you are interested, please contact our Parent Volunteer Coordinator, Becky Walsh.       derbyparentvolunteercommittee@gmail.com

I’d like to welcome Mrs. Betsy Willard, who will be teaching children in the library for a few months during Mrs. Boskind’s absence.

Congratulations to Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Paradis, who have decided to retire at the end of this school year!

It was standing room only at last night’s concert first and second grade concert!  For pics and video, check out our Facebook page    https://www.facebook.com/destigersvt/

We hope you can encourage your child to participate in some holiday fun at school before our vacation break.  Information is attached, and pics will be posted each day on our DESTigers  Facebook page.

Next week, on December 15 from 5:00 am to 9:00 am, Fox 44 Local News will be broadcasting LIVE from our very own Mrs. Broe's Vermont Reindeer Farm! Start your day with Mrs. Broe, Prancer, Apple Jack, Jack Frost and friends by tuning in when you wake up, or record it to watch as a family at a later date!

It is winter boot season!  And even though we don’t have snow, many parts of our playground is muddy and wet.  Wearing winter boots outside and having shoes for inside the classrooms helps keep our carpet clean and helps the carpets last longer.  Children who choose not to wear winter boots will have to stay on the cement area of the playground.
