School Budget Informational Meeting

The upcoming school budget vote is an important opportunity to support our students and ensure they continue to have the resources they need to learn and grow. We invite you to an informational meeting on March 3 at 6:00 PM in the school gym to learn more about what the budget funds and how it impacts our students, staff, and community.

Voting will take place on March 4 at the Derby Town Offices. Every vote matters in keeping our schools strong and ensuring that students receive the high-quality education they deserve.

We encourage you to attend the informational meeting, ask questions, and make your voice heard on March 4! Thank you for being part of our school community.

Winter Break Learning & Rest Tips

As we head into winter break, here are a few fun ways to keep learning alive while also ensuring students return refreshed and ready to learn:

✨ Winter Reading Challenge: Encourage cozy reading time! Set up a fun challenge where students read a certain number of pages or books and share their favorites after the break.

🎨 Creative Activities: Let kids explore their creative side with winter-themed art projects or writing prompts. They can create snow scenes, write about their favorite winter activities, or even keep a simple journal.

🎮 Educational Games: Balance relaxation with some brain-boosting fun by introducing educational games (think puzzles, board games, or apps that challenge math, vocabulary, or logic skills).

❄️ Outdoor Play: Let students get outside for winter walks, sledding, or snowshoeing (with proper gear!). It’s a great way to get their bodies moving while also refreshing their minds.

🌙 Restful Return: After a fun and relaxing break, help students ease back into learning by keeping the first days back low-key and routine-based. Let them share their break highlights, ease back into assignments, and reestablish class routines slowly to avoid overwhelming them.
