Break Plans? Keep It Balanced!

April Break can be a great time to relax—and it’s also easy for screen time to sneak into all-day mode. If you're looking to mix it up, here are a few family-friendly ideas:

Take a local “micro-adventure” — explore a new trail, park, or museum
Start a simple family project: build a birdhouse, make a time capsule, or plant something together
Host a screen-free challenge: who can go the longest without reaching for a device? (Yes, adults count too!)
Family board game tournament
Scavenger hunt around the house or backyard
Create a “restaurant” at home—kids can design menus, decorate, and even “serve” a meal
Listen to an audiobook together while doing a puzzle
