Welcome Back!

What a joy it’s been to have our hallways buzzing with laughter and energy again! After a summer of projects and prep, nothing compares to seeing our Tigers back where they belong. From Open House smiles to first-day jitters (and excitement!), this short first week has already reminded us why we love what we do.

Here’s to a great start and a long weekend to recharge before our next week together.

Tiger Spotlight

These two aren’t new to our hallways, but they are stepping into new roles this year. Here’s a chance to get to know them in their latest chapter.

This week we’re celebrating Tara Houghton: Equity & Engagement Coordinator

Here’s a little peek at the person behind the title:

  • If they could only eat one food forever, it would be: brownies.
  • Their first-ever concert? Brittany Spears
  • Right now they’re into: Anything by Lisa Scottline
  • If they weren’t teaching, you’d probably find them working as a realtor.
  • Their day instantly brightens seeing her kids!
  • Favorite place in Vermont (or beyond): Panama City beach, Florida.
  • A song they’ll never skip is Godsmack- Whatever
  • And a fun fact about them? She used to snowmobile race!

We’re thrilled that Tara chose to bring her talents (and personality!) to our Tiger team. Be sure to give her a warm welcome when you see her in the hallways!
Bri and her dogs

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Miss Bri, School Counselor

Did you know…

  • Their go-to comfort food is Poutine!
  • The first concert they ever attended? Carrie Underwood
  • When she's not working at our local Agway on the weekends, you can find her playing with her two dogs Gunner and Skip!
  • If teaching hadn’t called their name, they might be working as a Private Investigator or President of the Neighborhood Watch!
  • Their current obsession is Big Brother (TV show)
  • One more fun fact? Singing is her hidden talent!

We’re so lucky to have Miss Bri as part of our school community—not just for what they do in the classroom, but for the unique person they are every day.

ROAR Reminder

Our Tigers are ready to ROAR into a new school year! ROAR stands for the expectations we practice every day:

Respect – using kind words and caring for people and spaces
On Task – focusing on learning and doing your best work
Always Safe – making safe choices with our bodies and materials
Responsibility – owning your actions and being prepared

These simple but powerful habits help our school stay a place where every Tiger can learn and grow. Families can help by asking your child which part of ROAR they practiced most this week!

Tigertastic Tips

The first week of school can leave even the most energetic Tigers a little tuckered out. Don’t be surprised if your child comes home extra tired, extra hungry, or extra chatty (or all three at once!). A healthy snack, a little downtime, and an early bedtime can help smooth the transition. Remember, building new routines takes practice, but by the end of September, things usually feel grr-eatly more settled.
