It’s been wonderful seeing all of our students this week; PreK is officially underway! We're diving into our first full week of school! We love the energy in our hallways and the smiles in our classrooms.

A quick reminder for drop-off: please don’t arrive too early. Doors open at 7:45 a.m., and arriving earlier can block staff from getting ready for the day. We promise, there’s no need to get here before then; your Tigers will still have plenty of time to start their day strong. Let’s make mornings smooth and safe for everyone!

Tiger Spotlight

Our tiger cubs are in great paws with two purr-fectly playful PE teachers—one bringing years of fun and know-how, the other bringing new energy and spirit to our school!

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Emma Wright, PE teacher

You might know her as one of our peppy PE teachers, but did you know…

  • Her go-to comfort food is pizza.
  • The first concert she ever attended? Beyonce
  • When she's not teaching, you might find her playing with her pup Pistachio.
  • If teaching hadn’t called her name, she might be working in sports world.
  • Her favorite thing to watch is the Milwaukee Bucks during the NBA season
  • One more fun fact? She can do 217 jump ropes in one minute!

We’re so lucky to have Mrs. Wright as part of our school community—not just for what she does in the gym, but for the unique person she is every day.

This week we’re celebrating Mr. Harris, PE teacher

We’re excited to welcome Caleb Harris to our school family this year as our new PE teacher! Here’s a little peek at the person behind the title:

  • If he could only eat one food forever, it would be pizza.
  • Their first-ever concert? Third Day
  • A hidden talent you might not guess? Hacky Sack
  • If he wasn't teaching, you’d probably find him working as a park ranger.
  • His day instantly brightens when he sees his wife and kids..
  • Favorite place in Vermont: A random apple tree on North Derby Road which has the most delicious apples.

We’re thrilled that Mr. Harris chose to bring his talents to our Tiger team. Be sure to give him a warm welcome when you see him in the hallways!

ROAR Reminder

Thanks to our students’ hard work, we’ve already earned 32 Mega Paws! That means our first schoolwide celebration is coming soon.

Why do we celebrate? Because acknowledging positive behavior helps students see that their everyday choices add up to something bigger. When the entire school earns a celebration, it sends the message that every student matters and that together, we create a safe, respectful, and joyful place to learn.

Tigertastic Tips

Start Strong with Routines
September is the perfect time to set routines that help children feel secure and successful both at home and at school. Consistent routines give kids a sense of predictability, which lowers stress and builds independence. Here are a few ways to set your child up for success:
  • Bedtime & Wake-Up: Aim for the same bedtime and wake-up each day, even on weekends. Most elementary students need 9–11 hours of sleep to be their best learners.
  • Morning Routine: Post a simple checklist (get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, pack backpack) so your child can feel confident completing tasks independently.
  • After-School Routine: Build in a short break, then a set time for physical activity, reading, or chores before screen time.
  • Prepare the Night Before: Lay out clothes, pack snacks/lunch, and double-check folders to make mornings smooth.
When home routines are steady, students come to school ready to learn, and everyone’s day starts with less stress and more success!
