Our First Assembly: A Magical Kick-Off!

We rounded out the week with an unforgettable first assembly! Students celebrated our Tigers of the Month for showing outstanding ROAR values, and the whole school joined together for a magical reveal of our brand-new school t-shirts. The energy was incredible as everyone posed for our giant school picture ROAR! More photos and a video highlight reel are on the way once they’re polished up—stay tuned!

Tiger Spotlight

This month’s Teacher Spotlight we learn a little more about a familiar face and welcome a brand new intervention teacher to our team.

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Ariane Sheltra, intervention teacher

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Mrs. Sheltra, who you might know as one of our intervention teachers, but did you know…

  • Her go-to comfort food is Pizza
  • The first concert she ever attended? Sandy and Junior (Brazilian Singers)
  • When she's not teaching, you might find her reading Beyond Behaviors or singing and dancing!
  • If teaching hadn’t called her name, she might be a singer!
  • Favorite place: Granby Zoo

We’re excited to see the positive impact she’ll continue to make for students and staff alike.

This week we’re celebrating Sydney Whipple, Intervention teacher

We’re thrilled that Sydney Whipple chose to bring her talents (and personality!) to our Tiger team. Be sure to give her a warm welcome when you see her in the hallways!

  • If she could only eat one food forever, it would be Tacos - because they're delicious, bite size, and so versatile!.
  • Her first-ever concert? Lady Gaga
  • If she wasn't teaching, she'd be running her own little engineering studio - creating experiences steeped in curiosity and play.
  • Favorite place in Vermont: Warren Falls paired with a stop at Canteen Creamery on the way home! (Sydney's formula for a favorite place: a water feature in the woods with snacks!)
We’re lucky to have her talents and energy joining our intervention program.

ROAR Reminder

Welcome Tillie the Tiger!

Our PBIS family just got bigger! At the assembly, we proudly introduced our brand-new mascot, Tillie the Tiger. Tillie will be cheering us on as we show Respect, On Task, Always Safe, and Responsibility this year. Meanwhile, our longtime friend Tony the Tiger has set off on an exciting world tour. He’ll be sending us postcards from around the globe, full of encouragement, wisdom, and PBIS-inspired messages to help us grow into the best Tigers we can be.

Tigertastic Tips

Treating Our Subs with Tiger Pride
We’re thrilled to share that we’ve received wonderful feedback from our substitute teachers—they love being here with your students! When teachers are out, substitutes help keep learning on track, and the way students respond makes all the difference. Families can help by reminding children of a few simple things on days when there’s a sub:
  • Be welcoming—a smile or friendly greeting goes a long way.
  • Show patience—subs may do things a little differently, and that’s okay.
  • Use ROAR expectations—respect, responsibility, and kindness matter no matter who is leading the class.
When substitutes feel supported, they’re eager to return, and our school benefits from having familiar, caring adults ready to step in whenever needed. Thanks for helping us keep the Tiger Pride strong!
