Check Before Sending Items to School
We love our families’ thoughtfulness and support! Just a friendly reminder to check with your child’s teacher before sending in any items, especially treats, gifts, or classroom snacks. This helps us avoid allergy risks, classroom confusion, and any uncomfortable moments for students if something can’t be accepted.
Cold Weather = Cold Season
As temperatures drop, we tend to see more colds, flu, and other seasonal illnesses. The Vermont Department of Health reminds families that small steps at home help keep everyone healthy and learning.
What helps:
- Encourage frequent handwashing and covering coughs and sneezes.
- Keep children home if they have a fever (100°F or higher), vomiting, diarrhea, severe cough, or an unexplained rash.
- Make sure your child is dressed for the weather—fresh air and warm layers help, too!
If your child is showing signs of illness or has been diagnosed with something contagious, please check in with our school nurse. Thank you for helping keep our Tiger community healthy and strong!
Candy Stays at Home
We know those Halloween treats are hard to resist, but we ask that candy not come to school. This gentle reminder (from our family handbook) helps keep classrooms (and the lunchroom) fair, focused, and food-allergy safe. Thank you for understanding!
