Back in the Swing of Things

It was wonderful to be back together for a full week! Our students spent the week reviewing routines, practicing expectations, and reinforcing positive habits as we settled back into our school rhythm. January is all about rebuilding momentum; taking time to slow down, remember how we do things, and gain confidence again. We’re proud of the focus and effort we’ve already seen as Tigers get back into the swing of learning.

Important Reminder: Updated Contact Information

With recent unexpected early releases and increased illness, we’ve had several situations where we were unable to reach families right away when students needed to be picked up. When contact information isn’t current, students may remain at school longer than necessary while we wait to connect with caregivers.

Please take a moment to review and update your phone numbers and emergency contacts in our system. Accurate information allows us to reach families quickly, ensure students are cared for appropriately, and close out the school day safely and on time for everyone. Thank you for helping us keep communication smooth and timely.

Tiger Spotlight

This week’s spotlight shines on two incredible members of our Tiger Team.

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Amanda George, 5th grade math teacher

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Ms. Amanda, who you might know as one of our 5th grade teachers but did you know...
  • Her go-to comfort food is pizza
  • The first concert she ever attended? Vanilla Ice...with Mrs. Reece!
  • When she's not teaching, you might find her cheering for the Montreal Canadiens
  • Her favorite place in Vermont (or beyond): anyplace near the ocean
  • A song she won't skip: Currently one called Ordinary...mostly because her daughter won't let her skip it!
We're excited for the positive energy and care she brings to her classroom everyday!

This week we’re celebrating Chelsea Gray, 4th grade teacher

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Mrs. Gray who you might know as one of our fourth grade teachers but did you know…
  • If she could only eat one food forever: Mashed potatoes with lots of gravy
  • When she's not teaching, you probably will find her spending time with her two sons
  • Her favorite place in Vermont (or beyond): Brousseau Mountain in the fall
  • A song she'll never skip: Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac
  • And a fun fact about her? She has over 25 first cousins
We’re lucky to have her supporting our Tigers with this essential role!

ROAR Reminder

This week, students revisited what it means to ROAR—being Respectful, On task, Always Safe, and Responsible. Teachers modeled expectations, practiced routines, and celebrated students who jumped right back in with positive choices. You may hear your child talking about reminders, shout-outs, or classroom rewards as we continue to reinforce ROAR across all settings. Consistency and positive reinforcement go a long way, and our Tigers are rising to the challenge!

Tigertastic Tips

January is a reset month—small routines make a big difference! Here are a few ways families can support a smooth return:
  • Stick to simple routines for mornings, bedtime, and homework—familiar rhythms help kids feel secure.
  • Talk ROAR at home: Ask your child how they showed Respect or were On Task today.
  • Build in movement and breaks after school—kids are working hard to refocus their bodies and brains.
  • Offer encouragement, not perfection—restarting routines takes time, and effort matters most.
