Tiger Tales 9/20/26

Our first PBIS celebration of the year was a little out of this world! 

This week, our Tigers celebrated Reading Under the Stars, our first schoolwide PBIS celebration of the year. Buddy classes gathered together with glow sticks, cozy reading spots, and, of course, lots and lots of stories. Older and younger Tigers read together, talked about books, made connections, and enjoyed some time simply being together.

The stars may have been pretend, but the connection, joy, and love of reading were very real. 

A huge ROAR to our Tigers for earning this celebration and to our staff for making the whole school feel a little more magical. 

The reading doesn't have to stop when the book closes.

After reading together, try one simple question: “What did you notice?”

That's it. No quiz. No “What was the main idea?” No need to check whether they understood every detail.

Maybe they noticed something funny. A character they liked. A word they didn't know. A picture they loved. Something that reminded them of their own life.

Those little conversations help kids slow down, think about what they're reading, and discover that books are meant to be talked about and shared.
